- Direction of Prayer: Muslims around the world face the Kaaba five times a day during their daily prayers, known as the qibla.
- The Hajj Pilgrimage: Able-bodied Muslims aim to visit the site at least once in their lifetime to walk around the structure seven times during the annual pilgrimage.
Structure and Appearance
- Dimensions: The building stands about 13 to 15 meters high and roughly 11 to 12 meters wide.
- Materials: It is built using regular granite stones held together with mortar and features a flat wooden roof.
- The Kiswa: A large black silk cloth embroidered with gold Quranic verses covers the exterior and is replaced annually.
