About seven years ago I had a dream that was spiritual in many ways. The dream in and of itself was pretty simple. I'm walking up a hill but feel the need to turn around and look behind me. And there following right behind me was my very first cat, Mischief. I turned and continued walking up the hill. And then a short time later I woke up. But you don't forget dreams about your first love when it’s especially about your first pet. I was probably about nine at the time I had Mischief.
Maybe three weeks after having this dream my roommates brought home a kitten. As soon as this kitten came into the house she wanted nothing to do with my roommates at all. She followed me around wherever I went. She tried every night to come into my room to sleep. And was always under my feet ignoring my roommates’ best efforts to be her new guardians.
It became obvious in a very short time that she had adopted me and no one was going to persuade her otherwise. And this led me to recall my previous dream about my first cat Mischief.
Molly is now my seven year old cat. Her personality is nothing like Mischief's. Mischief was a feisty and a fierce protector of her territory. Molly on the other hand is a lap cat. If anything, she acts more like the cat I had many years ago named Lucky who was with me for nineteen years.
At any rate I look at the dream as a prophecy dream. I was being shown that a new spirit pet was coming into my life. Molly knew, from day one, that she had been sent here for me. And that was the message Mischief came to show me!

I lost my cat Max on December 4th 2024 and it still hurts my heart. He was 18 years old and that is pretty old for a cat. Even now I still get glimpses of him at the corner of my eyes. It is like he is transparent and see him moving towards me for about a second and then disappears. I have his ashes close to me in the living room and always talk to him throughout the day and night.

I still have my last cat's ashes also and intend to have her ashes added to mine when I transcend this earthly plane. And tht also holds true for Molly, my current cat, if I die before her.

Pets are persistent because they bond with who ever they vibe with the most, on a passive energetic level I believe. With cats, they're pretty known for favoring one owner over another. Some dogs can do this as well. I think it really depends on how well you interact on at least 3 primary levels. Physical, energetic and shadow...where you reference them to others in passing who may not even be aware you have a cat. Sometimes that type of shadow energy will show up in dreams, enough to carry spirit messages between the physical and the energetic in a short period of time. Especially if you're the kind of person to have more far sighted dreams than near sighted about things like this.
I still think it's a really cool personal cat story that brings pride and familiar warmth into the place you call home.
The odd thing about this, is the cat that was following me up the hill waited fiftyone years to manifest into one of my psychic dreams. While a couple of others were much more immediate after their passing. And what's even stranger is that she was my first cat and it destroyed me losing her. I cried for day's. And still do if I think about it too long!
Yeah, I would too in your situation. They're precious in more ways than just being a cute cuddly fur baby. I've done that myself over my own pets. That rainbow bridge was my personal energy portal for weeks.

My past babies come to visit at different times.
Through touches in dreams or bed moving,or they enter my other furkids at that moment.
I absolutely love every minute of these experiences because they will forever be with me in heart and soul.
