WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO US?

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO US?
How did we get to here?
A long time ago; so close; so near!
No more of this pain can I bear!
You were my everything, my dear!
Now-you yell and scream, but I do not hear!
*
*
What has happened to us?
Scream, yelling! So much anger and fuss!
Our words, just cuss!
Remember times we could talk and discuss!
I need to leave! Matters not car or bus!
*
*
Have we, for each other, lost respect?
Our relationship-how did it get wrecked?
Is there anything to salvage or correct?
Continue to love our children and protect!
I can no longer allow this-to me- affect!
*
*
You know what I say is true!
Stop the bleeding! I do not hate you!
You know what we must do!
No phoenix rises! Nothing to begin anew!
What has happened to me and to you?
*
*
It is done!
No dark place to run!
What happened to our lives and fun?
Gone-as in the setting sun!
Sorrow! No one won!
*
*

  • If we chose to be here and it served a purpose for us? Would we choose our friends and partners to help us remember what we came here to remember? Would every event that showed us our discontent be and explanation or even a lesson we chose to experience and our friend or partner agreed to play a part in to show us what is inside us that we need to forgive in our selves and in others? That might mean there have never been any hard times in our relationships only an unwillingness to recognize the need to forgive ourselves and heal?
    • I think that's ultimately part of what we're here to do regardless, in our own way. but we have to believe in it from within to become or be it once our earthly form lets us the soul, traverse the journey ahead.
  • I've seen so many relationships end up like this needlessly. Too many people unable to see beyond their own needs. Sad to say. I wish them nothing but healing and warmth, as well as vibrancy to know who they are once more.
    • Although my husband passed in 2021 (only 67) I wrote this when we went through a rough patch in 2016. I dearly miss him as we were together for 40 years. I seem to communicate best using poetry (lol)
Thank you for all your wonderful comments! You are a dear soul!
    • You're worth them. I know what it's like to go through rough patches in a relationship. Not that I wish it on anyone but sometimes you do have to be assertive to stand for everything you believe in. In a society that respects you, be it at home or when talking to someone you just met, you'll get the respect back you need to move closer or you won't and you would naturally push away from someone who treats you like you don't know yourself as they clearly know what they want to do with theirs, but just make it the problem of someone else without mutual guidance. That's the very reason why I still believe in, and seek for, divine guidance to this day.
That said, may your husband rest in peace and be comfortable in the next life, or stay with you in part while holding the best parts of you alive and well. My own grand mother died that same year, in January 2021 and then 4 years later, one friend of mine died in June 2025. Then a year later, in June 2026 almost to the day, a few months ago, another friend did. And both I have known for many years.
I lost my entire coven to death prematurely, toxic though it was. Plus family in a completely unrelated sense.
It changes you emotionally, but spiritually you wish them well.
